Benjamin Kaduk 29539516e5 FreeBSD needs libutil.h for forkpty()
The header is not available everywhere, so only include it if it
is present. (The extra include should be harmless on Linux by
inspection.)

Benjamin Kaduk 424e2b53e1 Allow <sys/endian.h> as well as <endian.h>
On FreeBSD, the header which defines htobe64() is the sys/ variant,
unlike Linux.

Keegan McAllister 705dcb6483 configure.ac: Don't check for malloc, realloc
When cross-compiling for Android, configure (erroneously?) decides we don't
have a GNU-compatible malloc, and tries to

    #define malloc rpl_malloc

We don't define rpl_malloc, and it's not clear it would work with the <cstdlib>
C++ header, anyway.  See

    http://nerdland.net/unstumping-the-internet/malloc-has-not-been-declared/

If we aren't using malloc(0), it should be safe to use malloc without the check.

Anders Kaseorg c71f8e2dc2 Use automake’s silent-rules mode if available, for quieter build output
With automake 1.11, this gives us Linux kernel–style silent output
that makes warnings more obvious:

  GEN    userinput.pb.cc
  CXX    userinput.pb.o
  AR     libmoshprotos.a
  CXXLD  mosh-client

(Use ‘make V=1’ for the traditional verbose output.)

Anders Kaseorg aad760e7d6 Make warning CXXFLAGS configurable
This turns off -Werror by default except in the Debian package.
-Werror is inherently unportable and breaks things on OS X. While it
can cause problems in Debian too, this is at least a little better.

It also turns off -pedantic in src/protobufs, because apparently
protoc output doesn’t compile with -pedantic on all platforms.

Keegan McAllister 295e83313e Add 'foreign' to AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE
This prevents errors about the missing README. It also suppresses creation of
the standard INSTALL document, which is long and fairly useless.
